Does my child need their own Apple ID?
No. The simplest setup uses your Apple ID on the camera. If your child already has their own Apple ID in your family, that works too.

Where do the photos actually go?
Onto the camera first, always. Then into your family's iCloud storage when there is a connection. Mupi runs no server and keeps no copy of its own.
Will this fill up my Apple Photos?
No. Mupi keeps its own library. Photos only reach Apple Photos when you pick them and save them yourself.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Taking photos, looking at them and marking favourites all work with no connection at all. Backing up happens later.
What happens when the old phone runs out of space?
Once a photo is safely backed up, Mupi can keep a smaller copy on the camera and free the full-size one. A photo that has not been backed up is never removed.
Is there a subscription?
No. €14.99 once, with Family Sharing where Apple allows it, and no charge per child or per camera.
Do you track what my child photographs?
No. There is no analytics, no advertising, and no Mupi account. Photos are in your iCloud, and Mupi cannot see them.
Can grandparents see the photos?
Not yet. Sharing beyond the family library is something Mupi wants to do well rather than quickly, and it is not part of the first release.
Does it record video?
No. Mupi is a photo camera. Video may come later, once photos, storage and backup are proven on old hardware.
